Only sponsorship can ensure the future of Saigeetha’s school
Sponsorship is the only solution to help an underprivileged child and enable their basic needs to be met. The opportunity to attend school is a real gift; children love to learn and their knowledge and education can then be transmitted to their immediate family.
School is like a second family where children can grow in confidence in an atmosphere of benevolence and protection. Each child is truly valued.
School gives the children an official status through their school reports and exams; it gives them a chance to build a better life for themselves.
Wearing school uniform enables the children to feel part of a collective which teaches them respect for themselves, in terms of personal hygiene, moral values and creativity.
Sponsoring a child
Sponsorship = 10 euros/month or 120 euros/year.
Where sponsors’ money goes to:
1. School: teachers
9 teachers are required for 180 children, under Saigeetha's supervision. She works long hours and assumes her responsibilities with great faith and determination..
2. School: children
The children's uniforms are made locally to measure. The fabric is of a good quality which ensures that the children are less uncomfortable and sweaty. School equipment and school uniform (2 pcs of each garment)
3. School: staff and maintenance
The cook needs equipment such as hobs, pots and pans.
The caretakers are hired each evening - the climate demands considerable little maintenance and repair jobs which are essential for maintaining good levels of hygiene. A permanent position could be created for each of these members of staff.
4.
School: outings
A number of these activities are in the pipeline, especially to celebrate local Indian festivals and holidays. Cross-cultural holidays such as Christmas could also be made to feel special through the provision of party food if the funds are available. Supervised picnics and cultural visits including the rental of vehicles.
Sponsorship can ensure the continued running of the school and offer a full and valuable education to over 180 children at a time. It is a gift that they fully appreciate through their regular contact with their sponsors.
A new sponsorship section has been created on behalf of secondary students:
After 9 years of schooling and success in their exams, the children need sponsors to provide them with college tuition fees, equipment and school uniforms.
Another section has been planned for the benefit of pupils seeking to attend university:
Attending university is expensive, with travel costs, expensive books, materials, tuition and living costs.
