Short term projects :

1 - The children dream of being able to use a computer and using search engines to help them access information which would help them further their studies. A small room would be set aside for this purpose along with a volunteer to teach them. The school requires 4 computers along with 2 printers.
Estimated cost : 550 Euros

2 - A library should be created in the office to provide resources for both the pupils and the teachers. Both novels and reference books are in short supply. A simple wooden bookcase spanning the length of the room would be adequate.
Estimated cost : 200 Euros

800 books: Estimated cost : 400 Euros

3 - The teaching staff require paper, blackboards, chalk and sundry items such as coloured pencils and poster paints. Most of the children cannot draw as they have never had access to adequate media.
Cost : 350 Euros

4 - The kitchen has been constructed but needs to be furnished with hobs, pots and pans, crockery and cutlery for around 200 children.
Cost : 600 Euros

5 - The children need to have regular P.E. lessons but would require a simple school sports kit to allow them to express themselves fully, along with a pair of plimsolls or trainers each.
Cost (for 170 children) : 900 Euros

6 - Storage cupboards are urgently needed in every classroom. Furnishing each of the 6 classrooms with wooden or metal cupboard.
Estimated cost: 600 Euros

Medium term projects :

Francoise and Wilfried have suggested the creation of two additional categories for sponsorship: Firstly, the children who have passed the national end of school exams require support to finance further studies and to help them make their way in life. The pupils who are not so academic and would not suit going to college would need to learn a trade.
The boys will be placed in apprenticeships with carpenters, joiners, masons, blacksmiths, plumbers, groundsmen etc.
The girls could be offered apprenticeships in hairdressing, beauty therapy, cooking, childminding and numerous other suitable skills.

These placements necessitate a payment to protect these young adults from being exploited by their employers. A two year apprenticeship would cost 130 Euros per child.

Around 140 out of each 200 children would be benefit from these apprenticeships. Secondly, they would like to find financial assistance for young university students to enable them to finish their studies, providing them grants for books, equipments and tuition fees.

Max Sulty, a university lecturer in Paris, is pledging his assistance in supervising the academic side of the project and planning for the future. He will undertake several journeys to India in order to further the educational ambitions of the school. Herself a graduate, the charity's president promises to fully support him in his project.

Long term projects :

In March 2008 a personal donation allowed the school to acquire a plot of land measuring 1200m2 in order to build an educational orphanage which would house around 50 of the most destitute of children. The funds needed for the building work are yet to be raised and depend on the goodwill of the ordinary person, but the grounds have been secured.
